ACTION IS ADVOCACY
For the month of April, the Advocacy/Action Committee encourages actions relating to voter resources. The mid-term elections already present some challenging issues. But one thing we can do is to be certain the resources we rely on are truly there for us when we need them to encourage family and friends to be informed voters. So, here is a “bite-sized” action for you to take in April, from our friends at the Nonprofit Vote organization:
Step One: Bookmark two voter resources you can rely on during election season. Examples: vote.gov, the MN Secretary of State’s website, the Nonprofit VOTE resource page, Vote 411 Minnesota, City of Duluth Voter Services, and St. Louis County Elections Information.
Step Two: Take two minutes to click through the sites so that you can re-familiarize yourself with what’s there and where to find the basics when your community asks you a question about voter engagement.
Step Three: Share one of the links with a coworker, friend or family member who might also get voter questions this year.
Step Four: Refresh frequently to be certain you are up-to-date! Sharing old links is like using a deflated ball— no use doing it!
