“Overview of the St. Louis River Area of Concern”
Thursday, January 14, 7:00 - 8:00 pm via Zoom

In 1987, the St. Louis River Area of Concern (SLRAOC) was listed as one of 43 areas within the Great Lakes Basin that suffered significant environmental degradation from practices that were allowed before environmental regulations existed.  Millions of dollars are being spent to address nine specific “beneficial use impairments”.  Do you know what the impairments are, what work is being done to address them, how much it is costing, and who is paying for it?  Do you know how much work has been completed and what work remains before the AOC can be delisted?

A program is being planned for members of the League of Women Voters - Duluth to learn the answer to these questions from 7-8 pm on Thursday, January 14th via Zoom.  The “Overview of the St. Louis River Area of Concern” presentation will be given by Barb Huberty, St. Louis River Area of Concern Coordinator for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Here is the Zoom link for Barb's presentation re: St. Louis River Area of Concern on January 14.
