AAUW and LWV Duluth invite you to a screening
of the groundbreaking film ORIGIN
directed by Ava DuVernay ("Selma").

Thursday, March 21st at 1:30 p.m.
(Film running time is 2 hours 21 min)
Zinema at Zeitgeist Arts, 222 East Superior Street

Ticket price: $7.00

No RSVP is needed. We will meet at the theater's
lower level for general seating.
Before the film screening, there will be a brief video interview of Ava DuVernay from “CBS Morning.”

Please gather for a lively post-film discussion
at the Zeitgeist restaurant.

Based on Isabel Wilkerson's non-fiction bestseller "Caste," the film reimagines the author's journey as she discovers an all-encompassing social hierarchy underlying injustice and subjugation across time and space.

NYT film critic Manohla Dardis writes “that few American movies this year reach so high so boldly.”
Exhilarating and imaginative, “Origins” proposes a new way to consider, talk about, and resist the
many “isms” that distort our social systems and cripple human liberation.

Here is a positive review by the NYT's lead film critic:
