Opening Speaker: MN State Representative Erin Murphy, District 64A - St. Paul. Representative Murphy is the Deputy Minority leader and former majority chair of the MN House. Her committee assignments include Health & Human Services, Finance and Legacy Funding Finance.
What is "Citizens in Action"?
Citizens in Action is a daylong training program designed to educate citizens about the political process and how they can get involved at the local, state, and national level. The League of Women Voters of Duluth and many cooperating organizations sponsor this free event that is open to the public. Each year over 150 participants attend the workshop and have an opportunity to meet with area elected officials, network and receive many handouts with contact information for area organizations and elected officials. This year's workshops will include themes on: Steps For Citizen Involvement, Supporting the Voices of Young Adult leaders, Building Successful Coalitions and Social Media/Storytelling.
