       Genocide, Violence, and the Disappeareds: 
           The Crisis of American Indian Women

 
The impact of a genocide never ends. The genocide of American Indians has left a legacy of brutality and violence that continues today.  Native women living on tribal lands are murdered at a rate more than ten times the national average; they are trafficked; they become ‘disappeareds.’ Indigenous women have disappeared not once but three times: in life, in the news, and in the data. We must make them visible
